Beneath the surface, the 946 is no ordinary Vespa. Introduced in 2012, the 946 was praised for its retro-futuristic styling and pioneering use of both aluminum and steel in its construction (a first for Vespa). The connection between Piaggio Vespa and Christian Dior stems from their inception in 1946. The decades that followed, both companies have built a reliable, sustainable, and worldwide reputation.
Through the creative processes within each organization, both Vespa and Dior created this special edition Vespa. With stylistic input from Creative Director of Dior women’s collections, Maria Grazia Chiuri, the vehicle honors the heritage and legacy of both brands. Designed with a simple, elegant black-and-white livery which is complemented by golden accents. This is one of the 946 models built for the entire world.
At its core is a 150cc, once cylinder, 13-horsepower engine. It is important to note that the 946 is not a standard model in Vespa’s lineup. These offerings are only available in a series of design-focused editions that are offered in limited amounts of time and produced in limited quantities.
